Artist Jane Carr fell in love with Treadwell while buying hamburger.
“I was on a camping trip with my friend, (the late artist) Helen Mitchell in the late nineties. We stumbled on Treadwell and went into Barlow’s where we bought five pounds of burger. It was so pretty, there were so many artists, that we both decided we wanted to live there someday,” she said. “We walked around the streets, we talked to people, and we fell in love with it.”
