Rhonda Harrow-Engel
Rhonda Harrow-Engel will show her pottery and sculpture at Croton House in the center of Treadwell.
My clay work evolves from one investigation to another. Sometimes I will adorn my pieces with animals, cats, elephants, lizards. I like to draw insects and birds. Sometimes I make things that are very plain and perfectly formed, or that looked flawed, like the mock Kintsugi that I have been exploring of late. Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese tradition of repairing a broken vessel with gold inlay, and thereby, although flawed, increasing it’s worth.
All my work is high-fired and food-safe and made in my studio in Delhi
